Lisa Ortner-Ghouze

Lisa Ortner-Ghouze went through assisted fertility for around eight years while living in New York City. Lisa and her husband, Firman, experienced the full gamut of emotions, ranging from not knowing what to expect, dealing with doctors with poor bedside manners, undergoing emotional roller coasters during treatment cycles, coping with pregnancy losses, to feeling despaired and isolated. Today, Lisa and Firman have two sons—Sascha, 9, and Mika, 4—both of whom are IVF children. They are the miracles that defied doctors, family and friends. They have taught the Ghouzes the most important lesson of all: Never stop listening to your heart and believing in the possibilities of life. The rest is noise.
