Description

In 2012, 14 individuals from different walks of life were brought together to embark on a journey to become writers. Driven by their love for different literary genres – poetry, prose, playwriting and non-fiction – they were each paired with an established writer who mentored them for 12 months. This anthology is the culmination of their writing journey. From suicide swat teams to post-apocalyptic parenting, this selection of work showcases the creative range of Singapore’s emerging young writing talents.

Mentor Access Project (MAP) is a mentorship programme by the National Arts Council which aims to develop emerging writers in Singapore’s four official languages – English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. The 2012 edition was managed by The Arts House and included, for the first time, an overnight residency, workshops by local and foreign writers and industry professionals, peer critique sessions and public readings.
