Ram N. Dubey is a registered clinical counsellor, psychotherapist, and mediator. He is also the author of the award-winning book From Drunken to Driven, which has been widely recognised for helping people in alcohol recovery. He holds a Master’s Degree in Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology.
Prior to this transition, Ram was an accomplished regional director in a global banking software firm. He has worked in every major financial capital in the world but spent a significant amount of time in Asia-Pacific. His career in banking and fintech spans over forty years. Besides being qualified in banking, he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with Distinctions from the University of East London.
Ram is the son of a taxi-driver father and a home-maker mother who taught him by example that life is not just about self but also about giving time to serve others with love, care, and compassion. Ram puts this into practice in both his counselling and mediation roles.
For the past five years, Ram has devoted himself to working with people suffering from addiction, and has endeavoured to understand the reasons for their relapses, despair, and hopelessness. Both his books aim to motivate people to own their recovery. Instead of looking for a medicinal cure for addiction, he encourages them to use the miracle cure inside them. This is the honesty, openness, positivity, and endurance (H.O.P.E.) in recovery. It can sustain their sobriety, and redeem happy and healthy lives.
