A graduate of the Chinese faculty of the Singapore Nanyang University, Goh Lin Choo (referred in this book as “Madam Goh” or wu lao shi) has dedicated her life to being an educator. She taught Chinese language for 18 years and served as the head of department for mother tongue languages for over 20 years. She has recently retired from full time teaching and now concentrates on writing.
Madam Goh is a strong believer in the power of the written word and its influence on overall society. She has contributed numerous articles and commentaries to the Chinese press in Singapore on a wide array of topics and current affairs. She also believes in the role of literary writing in the field of visual arts to help increase the appreciation and understanding of local art in the community.
She is a published author of several short novels, and has written Chinese book reviews on many international works, including Gao Xingjian’s play, Shan Hai Jing Zhuan and English bestsellers like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
